CAROLYN'S STORY

I grew up on a farm in Morgan Hill, California. My Dad raised cattle, prunes, walnuts, strawberries and various row crops. I LOVED country life. Still do. Mama was a piano teacher and her favorite pastime was being outside in the flower garden. The fragrance and color of our yard was breathtaking! Ever since those times... many years ago...it has been my dream to live on a farm of my own.

In the early 1990's my husband, Brian, and I purchased 58 acres in Perry, Kansas. We started raising chickens and milk goats, then bought a Jersey cow named Becky. To our surprise, we had more milk than we could use! So, I began to make butter and cheese. This is also when I began to develop my own soap recipes. My love of flowers, herbs and farm fresh milk was a perfect blend for the most wonderful olive oil soap I have ever used. Most of the herbs used in the process grow on the farm.

I heartily agree with Casey Makela as she states in her book, Milk Based Soap, "Milk is unique in its natural ability to moisturize, nourish and retain its goodness in your skin, a truly pure natural beauty aide. Milk makes a similar contibution to soap. It renders it richer, creamier and less drying to the skin...Milk is the skin softener even the most delicate skin types can trust."

As my soap bars have been placed in various stores and locations in the area, demand has increased. Feedback has been very positive:
